Knowing You.

I have quite a number of songs by GUC on my phone but, Knowing You is one which captures my mind so much that, I couldn’t resist the impression to write a review on it.

Knowing You. How I get so engulfed in the song (lyrics).

The wordings of the song speak of the heart cry of a broken heart. And, talking about a broken heart, it is one which the Holy Spirit Himself (He alone) can grant unto a man.

Lord I wanna know You
Better than I know me
Teach me Lord, to know your Ways
To know your Truth— the first verse.

From there, the need to understand the truths about God is voiced out.

Relating this to our familiar environment…
So many of us know a bunch of facts about ourselves and other intimate relations but, we neglect the real deal— knowing God! Many believers have the knowledge of the likes and dislikes of their coaches, close friends and other revered people of which they have no personal relationship with. Yet, we don’t point a mind of focus to the principal thing.

Rid me of the Pride of this World
Rid me of those things
That don’t Matter to you
Teach me Lord, to know your Ways
To know your Truth.

That’s another verse. And, from there you observe that, so many irrelevances have occupied our minds that we just brush through the things of God as though, we are under some sort of compulsion to do it.

We are so much overwhelmed with “the big things” of which do not matter to God. Yes, you read that right. There are things we reverence so much but, in the factual sense, they aren’t what matters to God. After all, we are to mind what God minds. And, we can only achieve this if we know God better than we do at this moment.

Keep on Calling
Calling, I will Answer
Keep on Drawing
Drawing, I will come.

Lord I wanna know You
Better than I know me
Teach me Lord, to know your Ways
To know your Truth

I just wanna be where you are
Nothing Stopping me
From you Lord
Teach me Lord, to know your Ways
To know your Truth

You see from there, the sincerity of a broken heart.

But, mind you, a broken heart is not just for someone who’s went astray; it’s for us all as God’s children. And you see, the truth is that, God is inexhaustible, therefore, we’ll have to keep drawing from Him. That moment we feel like, we’ve had enough of God’s flow is a time to recheck our stance.

The things of the Spirit are as real as the physical things. So, just like you would desire to be with that person you so much love and vice versa, the same way God really desires that, we draw closer to knowing Him.

Most likely, you’d love to have a copy of Knowing You by GUC. Get it here.

Keep knowing God than you have ever did in the yesterdays.
